Kat & Mat's big bike trip
Day 76 Astakos
Today's ride was really peaceful, we were often the only people on the road. It was a gentle and rolling 30km to Mitikos, where we restocked at a supermarket and had lunch 1, and then another 30k through a wild, hilly landscape with no habitation.
It was a real change from yesterday, but Greece's beauty is really striking.
Everything in Greece is blue and white! Not only are there lots of Greek flags all over the place, but everything - fences, walls, door and window frames, tablecloths, furniture - is blue and white. It's a national obsession!
We're staying in a tiny ferry port which connects to just one small island, Kastos. There are not a lot of people here. Our room for the night is in a hotel that feels like it was the height of fashion 50 years ago. The tiling, curtain fabrics and textured paintings are wild. It's huge and we seem to be the only people here.
