Mat & Kat's big bike trip
Day 71 Ksamil
After a beautiful stay in last night's accommodation, it was a bastard of a hill to start off the day: extremely steep and off road, the winning combo! We're not ashamed to say that we walked our bikes most of the way. This was followed by a steep descent and then another hill! We want to have words with the road builders around here. Strolling down the hill were 4 free range cows, no owner in sight, then later a goat herder with a handful of goats foraging at the roadside.
I wonder if there's something wrong with us though, instead of just sticking to the easiest route, we took a 3km hilly off road detour to find two Sombras!
The rest of the morning was brutal hills and encouraging toots from passing cars. We rested in the welcome shade of a sycamore for lunch and a break.
The afternoon was yet more hills and baking sunshine. And we got three more Sombras! We arrived in beautiful Ksamil about 14:30 and collapsed in a bar for a while.
Ksamil is much more built up with lots of hotels, villas, bars and restaurants. Luckily our apartment is a little way from the beach and blaring music.
