Day 61 Kotor
Today marks a milestone on our trip: this is the final place that we've previously visited. We've cycled to the edge of our known world. Every kilometre after this is new.
We came to Kotor in 2014 on a day trip from Dubrovnik, and Mat absolutely fell in love with Kotor Bay then: the dramatic mountains, the little coastal towns, the beautiful water. He's always wanted to come back, and today we have!
It was quite hard work at first, some very busy stretches, sharing the road with a lot of trucks and buses. But once we got past the ferry that crosses the mouth of the bay, it got a lot quieter and more intimate. From there it was a gorgeous 35km of wiggly little roads hugging the edges of the water round to Kotor itself, nestled deep in the folds of the bay.
We're here for two days now: the old city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and deserves to be explored.
