Day 83 Athens
We're in Athens!
Our apartment is so beautiful it's a shame to go outside, but we also really want to explore the city. We got our first look at the acropolis.
All our clothes are falling apart, so in the afternoon we went out shopping for new items, and also clothes we can wear to visit mosques in Istanbul. Kat found a lovely dress and a nice skirt.
In the evening we met up with some cycle buddies, Jack and Niamh. They're cycling to Australia, so this is still early days for them! It was really lovely to get to know them and swap bike stories.

A rest day in Athens - we went shopping to buy some clothes to replace our cycling rags. In the evening we met up with some cycle buddies, Jack and Niamh. They're cycling to Australia, so this is still early days for them! It was really lovely to get to know them and swap bike stories.
We got our first view of the Acropolis at sunset from the top of a hill behind our apartment, Philopappos Hill.
On the way down we stopped at Socrates prison (also a prison for other people, he was just the most famous).
