Day 44 Novalja

What a glorious ride! We started off on the island of Rab, which is peaceful and pretty, then got a ferry back onto the mainland. The next section was very hilly, but a joy to see the islands rolling by on one side and a steep mountain on the other. We hopped back on a ferry to the island of Pag, and then it was a 10km ride through a desolate moonscape to our accommodation. It's greener on the west side of the island where we're staying because it's sheltered from the Bura wind that comes from the mountain ranges inland. We met two of yesterday's German cyclists on the ferry again, Mattias and Sebastian. It was nice to see them but the reason they were on our ferry was because they weren't allowed on the Rab-Pag catamaran. Our ferry intel was correct! There was one final hill before we arrived at Novalja. The town is full of young Germans having their version of Spring break, but our apartment is peaceful. In the evening we went to the beach for a dip - the water is amazingly clear!
